Building a bird cage?

Building a bird cage?
I am planning on building a large bird cage for my cockatiels.
Someone suggested hardware cloth.
What kind of hardware cloth would be safe for my
birds. And what other materials would i need?
Hardware cloth is usually galvanized wire with a 1/4" or 1/2" mesh. I have never seen any that are made from plastic. If you want to be artistic and have the patience you could build one from wood using thin wooden dowels available at Home Depot or Lowe's, as a rule they come in 36" strips. You might be able to find some ideas on the WWW.
just buy 1
Wire that will be affordable will probably be galvanized, which means it will have zinc, which is poisonous to birds. It would have to be powder coated, and that is expensive. The only bird safe metal you would be able to find that wouldn't kill your bird is stainless steel, and that is really expensive. It will be cheaper to buy a cage, because if you use galvanized metal you will harm or kill your bird.
