I like Gerbils the best; But I can only get one.
Do they do okay with only themselves?
And Guinea Pigs... Aren't they more boring.?
And I don't like hamsters as much as gerbils, but don't they do better themselves.
And don't guinea pigs need more than one too.?

I'm pretty sure that hamsters are ok on there own so you should get one of those. Hope I help!^_^
I used to have a guinea pig...I would say not to get one cuz they go to the bathroom everywhere and it starts to REALLY stink after a day or so. It gets really bad in the summer. Personally I would get a hamster (I actually am) but my friend has a gerbil and it' s really cool...so i guess it' s up to you!
I don't know about gerbils but guinea pigs do better in pairs, same gender. And hamsters no matter what pet shops say just don;t do well together, trust me - we started off with 2 hamsters in a cage that fight, turned out the pet shop sexed them wrong and one was pregnant, next we had 7 hamsters in 3 cages, each one fought and we ended up with 7 cages of happy on their own hamsters. I don't think guinea pigs are boring but I have never had gerbils, gerbils probably have less cleaning out but I think you could probably do more with guinea pigs or even rabbits?
Just remembered my friend has gerbils and they are in a pair, dunno way but they get along fine. Guinea pigs like the company when humans aren't around, gerbils are probably the same.

Hamster owner for 3 years and the owner of 4 guinea pigs.
It's your choice really. Some guinea pigs, hamster, or gerbils could be a hassle, some just are quite simple to take care of. It's your choice. I have a hamster so of course, i choose hamster. Gerbils on the other hand a normal gerbil behavior includes jumping, climbing, chewing, and digging. The digging motions are very common: the gerbil moves its arms rapidly.
They are curious and not easily startled. They love to burrow and hide.
Gerbils are social animals, and prefer to live in groups. Often very large groups live well together, as long as the living environment is big enough; otherwise, the gerbils may become frustrated and attack one another. Groups of females are much more quarrelsome than groups of males, but if fighting occurs among males it is usually much more vicious. Males will very rarely attack females.
Gerbils are not naturally aggressive creatures; much like hamsters, they would rather nibble a potential source of food and only fully bite when threatened. Gerbils do not make noises often, although some gerbils can squeal when scared. To communicate with other members of the species they 'thump' repeatedly using their back legs. This is often seen when a gerbil is frightened to warn other gerbils of the danger.
Guinea pigs, i would say are good cute cuddly pets, you can teach them to sleep with you. They are bigger than the hamster and gerbil, so that means a lot of bedding, and a lot of cleaning. If you are a responsible person, and would like to do this at least twice a week, you could get a guinea pig. No they are not boring, they are really cute and cuddly, and very talkative.
hamsters, are cute also, and cuddly, they are very active like gerbils at night, both defiantly need a wheel, they don't need a lot of bedding, and they can stink from time to time because of their scent glands. You can get a spray and spray it around the cage, this should kick out the smell if your bedding can't
So again
it's your CHOICE' choose which you would think is easier and more loving, and what you will deffiantly commit to
