I got my first hamster about 5 months ago. She is a female syrian hamster. All of the sudden she seems less active and she seems very bloated. (She is the only hamster I have, so pregnancy is out of the question). Her stool also seems to have a greenish color to it. I would just like to have an idea as to what's wrong. I've heard the vets around here are not great with rodents, so I would like to know if I have to take her... and I would like to have as much knowledge as possible before going. Anything helps!
sounds like wet tail
Could be she has some kind of intestinal blockage with the bloat, but you wouldn't find much passing through if that were the case. Bloat and diarrhoea are not good signs. Ring round and see which vet is best with rodents, she really does need professional attention.
