I need to clean her cage but can\'t? (Hamster question)?

I need to clean her cage but can't? (Hamster question)?
My robo needs her cage cleaned. BAD. But, I don't have anywhere to put her while I clean it. I can't put her in her ball, because last time I cleaned it, I had her in her ball, and the ball broke open and she escaped. I couldn't find her for a few days. I don't have the money for a new ball right now (and mum won't buy one for me. I need to buy a tie out so my cat can be out during my sis's grad party, since people will be going in and out and she likes being outside.). What do I do?
Just pop her in a cardboard box while you clean it...

Even a cereal box on its side will be ok, just use a little bit of tape to close it up.

It shouldn't take you long to clean the cage so 10 minutes in a box won't hurt her. (Just poke some air holes of course)
just put him in plastic tub be sure to keep the lid open. If that doesn't work, that plug the drain in you bath tub and make sure nobody takes a bath until your all done. I've had personal experiences with those ideas, and they were incredible! My mom gave me those ideas, and I thank her for them.
I've had experiences. They were AWESOME!!!!!
You can always prepare a shoe box:
Put a few little air holes in the top, or you could make a see-through panel out of cling film or something so that you can see what she's up to. Line the bottom with fine sandpaper if you like, so keep her nails trim..if not, just put newspaper in the bottom and put a cardboard tube or something in there to keep her entertained!
Make sure the lid is secure so she doesnt run away again!
Hope that helps =] x
do you not have some sort of box you could put her in.
put her in any thing that will allow her to get oxygen. ie do not use a plastic bag.

if you can not think of any container put her in the bath tub or shower, be quick in the cleanning and get her back in to the cage. this should be done at least once a week.
this happens to me allot. what i do is i put my hamster in a small tub ( one with large walls) and with some snack so she wwont even be tempted to escape while you clean his/her cage. if you dont have a large tube you can use a shoe box.... poke holes in the lid and keep shut.

Hope this helps
myself...
Stick the hamster in the microwave....but dont switch on of course
Any box or even a bathtub will work. As long as she has airflow, something to do, nothing toxic to get into, and can't escape, she'll be fine.
Cardboard Box that she won't be able to climb out of, but put sawdust in it and give her some toys to play with :)
you could use many things, even say, a laundry basket flipped upside down on the floor. i had rats in the past and what i would do when i cleaned the cage was just let them roam around the room [with the door closed]. let him have the odd adventure :]
There are many things you can do!

1. Put her in any sort of cardboard box. Just get a box, make sure it is closed tight and stab some air holes in it. You could use cereal boxes, shoe boxes or any box of any kind!

2. You could put her in a wardrobe or in a drawer. Make sure there are no escape routes and that there can be some air. That way you can keep her in a drawer or cupboard while you clean the cage.

3. Ask a family member to watch over her while you clean the cage out. If one of your family members sits on a sofa then you can leave it with them and let it run around on the sofa whilst your family member keeps a close eye on her.

4. Find a room in your house where it can run around on the floor with the door shut. Presuming you don't have holes in the wall, she'll be fine running around on the floor in one of your rooms just so long as you keep the door shut then it can't go anywhere.

There are lots of things you can do with your hammy. Just use your common sense and think of things to do.
Also, try saving up for a new hamster ball as your hammy needs frequent out of cage exercise or it will be a very sad life for her. They are only a few pounds in the UK so it shouldn't take long for you to save up!

Good luck and i hope you manage to clean the cage!
Just try spot cleaning the bad parts of the cage with her still in it until you can get a ball or something else suitable to put her in. Or somebody can hold her while you are cleaning the cage?
i HAD that same problem before. you can use any box you want. like you said you dont have a box. STRANGE. but you can use any container and put holes in it. you can use a strainer and put it upside down. if she just managed to open the lid for the ball. you can put her back in the ball and put some tape on the lid. my hamster still cant get out. or you can do what i do.my cage has a metal top and plastic bottom. every time i clean her cage i wash th bottom first. while i wash the bottom i keep her in the top. and when i clean the top i just put her in the bottom. i only dust the top off so i dont have to worry about sufficating. plus my hamster chewed a tiny hole in the corner so she can still breath.
i have a hamster
why don't you get one of your family to hold it .
if u have any empty drawer somewhere maybe you could put her in there for a while... or use a cereal box or any kind of container like a granola bar box, or a Pringles can.
Just use a card board box if u have one laying round and put your hamster in there. i would never put my hamster in a pringles can thats mean!

Hope I Helped!

I always just put my rabbits in th bath tub. It's too high for them to get out so I know they're not going any where. Just make sure she doesn't go down the drain. If she's really small you could sit her in the sink. That's what I did with my dwarf hamster. The sink was too slippery for her is climb out.
