i really dont know what happened because i was not home at the time. My hamster Oreo does not seem to be acting like he is sick. he is very active and i just cleaned his cage two days ago. right now his eye is only open a little. how so i clean a cute squrimy, nibbling hamstes eye?
Wear gloves and hold him or scruff him and use a wet qtip to very gently wipe his eye off. However, if there is any sort of goop or buildup, you should find a vet near you who specializes in small animals...At the place where I work, there was actually a gerbil who had to have his eye removed because it was beyond the point of saving and was in danger of affecting the other eye. The most important thing here is: follow your gut. If you think something is wrong, find a vet. Good luck, hope he's okay. =)
