What makes a better pet Leopard gecko crested gecko bearded dragon or water dragon?
Hi, I am a beginner reptile-ist I can't decide between the leopard/crested geckos or the bearded/water dragon i REALLY! want a water dragon but i don't know how they are for beginners and also for biting. please write and give me tips on which makes a better pet and their needs. and if anyone recommends another type of lizard that's a good pet plz share them. and also which out of the 4 have the worst bite :) thanks!
I would choose a choose a leopard gecko because they are easy to care for and easy to breed
bearded dragon :] i had 2. they are awesome pets. they don't bite, they are easy to care for, and you feed them crickets. they are really cool pets, im about to get another one!
Those are all great pets! However, for a beginner- I would really recommend a leopard gecko. Crested geckos are great, but they are really delicate and shouldn't be handled very much. Bearded dragons are awesome, but there are so many things that can go wrong if the don't have the exact lighting/heating/etc... they can become VERY calcium deficient (like any reptile) and they are very sensitive. A water dragon, in my opinion is the highest maintenence. I own a water dragon and she is a great pet- does not bite, or whip her tail. But she requires a LOT of physical interaction. I would do some research online about them before getting one.

So, back to the Lepoard gecko- there are many, many different varities. But whatever kind you choose, I suggest getting an adult. Babies are cute, but they are super delicate, and as a beginner, the hardier, the better. They don't require a huge amount of space, a 20 gallon terrarium should do just fine, and actually, PetCo sells a "reptile starter kit" tank, lid, light, etc... that is pretty legit that is perfect for a leopard gecko. They are very handleable and I have never, ever seen one bite. Get some experience with reptiles before taking on a water dragon. Leopards are awesome. Good luck!

Go for the Bearded Dragon. I have one named Sammy and he is the best ever! Seriously! They honestly poop once every two weeks, no joke. So, you only rarely have to pick up one medium sized poop pile. it's easy because their not pellets. They don't smell, make any noise, and go to Petco and ask if they have a Bearded Dragon leash. You can seriously put your wonderful pet lizard on a leash and take he/she outside. They are super friendly, around fifteen dollars each, and are beautiful. Oh, and I learned that if you scratch it on it's neck he/she will seriously open it's mouth and smile! They are soooo awesome! Get a Bearded Dragon. You'll be sorry if you don't!
