I have [had] a snake named Francis. I'm not too sure what kind of snake his is though, my dad bought him, I asked him, and he just said "It's some kind of green snake or whatever". But he said he eats crickets, doesn't need a very strong heat lamp, and the usual necessities. So I gave him all of that, a good water bowl, a lamp, lots of crickets, I gave him the perfect place to live and took care of him just fine.
And today I go to check on him and he's just dead. Nothing seems wrong, he just died. His eyes were still open, too. >_<
I don't think I did anything wrong, did everything by the book.
But I never did see him eat, or be in his water. I thought that he just did that when no one was watching, or I have bad timing. But crickets did disappear, and I cleaned his water bowl and changed it ever day.
I'm utterly confused on how he died.

It would be useful to know how long you had him. You probably bought crickets that were too big and he couldn't swallow them. Or the water bowl was raised and he couldn't get into it. Or the heat lamp was too weak.
Maybe hes sleeping?
