What Pet Snake ???????
I want a snake, but I want one that will stay about 2-3 feet in lenght all of its life, any ideas ? Thanks
There are only two snakes I can think of that stay about that small. Either a hognosed snake or a garter snake. But, the best snake for a beginner would be a corn snake.

Do lots of research before you buy!
Maybe a hognose. They only get up to about 3 feet. Ball pythons get 3-5 feet so you would not want one of those. Like the person below me said, a garder snake would be good too, they get to about 2 feet :)
"AJ" Mentioned a rubber boa- well good luck finding one. And they dont get as big as you want. They typically stay under two feet.
A Hognose would be your best bet. They are awesome looking and very friendly. I have one that was actually born with only one eye. (his name is one eye willy)
Own a hognose and other reptiles
Rosy boa - 2 to 3 feet
Ball Python - 3 to 5 feet
Corn Snake - 3 to 5 feet
Garter Snake - 2.5 to 3.5 feet
Hognosed snake - 2 to 3 feet
Rubber Boa - 1 to 2 feet

those are all rough, hope that helps, btw ball pythons are hard to care for they are very picky eaters but if your up for it i would recomend them or corn snakes/rosy boas hope that help
google! and my own research/experience :)
A garter/ribbon snake & a rosy or rubber boa stay about that size.

I will tell you one thing, if you decide to go with a rosy boa, do LOTS of research, make sure you have the proper set-up & are willing to work at keeping his home pretty perfect. They are not easy keepers, like garters & corn snakes. And are not really for beginners.

And if you go with a garter/ribbon snake, do not just feed them goldfish. Goldfish can give them thiaminase poisoning, which can kill the snake. Instead, give them any live bearing fish, guppies, platies, mollies, etc. that you can breed yourself for food. Or, give him salmon which you can buy at the grocery store, and just freeze it until you feed him a piece. Some garters even like earthworms.

And I have to comment on the suggestion of a hognose. They are rear-fanged venomous. Which means that they have fangs in the back of their mouth, instead of the front. And it is not easy to get bit by the fangs, you'd kind of have to let him chew on you a bit. The venom is not deadly like rattlesnakes & such, but it could cause a rash & discomfort. Just thought I'd let you know.
i suggest the rare spider snake only found in Africa. It is a snake that is half spider and half snake. It has eight legs but doesnt use them because then it would just be a spider. It kills you though
Get a Ball python. Males tend to stay smaller then females but honeslty i own 5 of them and they are by far the best snake!! Very docile snakes, wont bite you. Easy to care for etc..Ball Python all the way!!
a corn snake or a hognosed snake would be a good first time snake for you not a ball python
ball pythons
