Half lease horse information?
ok my mom and i have a deal going, if i get all as and bs then shell lease a horse for me. so i was wondering whopays for what ( vet, farrier, dentist) how much riding time would i get ( wholud that be worked out in the contract?) how much care would be provided ( feed, turn out, stalls) no rude answers please!
well it all depends on what the owner will allow. i will tell you right now EVERYTHING should be put down in the contract no matter how dumb and pointless it seems right now. it might now be later. usually a half lease is 2-4 days a week ride time. and you split all care costs. at least the horse i did was.
half lease--you would get to ride 2,3, or even 4 days a week...depends on who you are leasing and what the deal is.

You would probably pay for maybe half the vet bills, and farrier bills...

depends on the barn and boarding you have with the horse......usually they do everthing..feed, turn out, stall, pick feet, even sometimes groom daily.
lease a horse
Leases will vary from owner to owner. I have my trail gelding on a half lease right now. The guy comes out 3 days a week, takes full care of my horse on those days. I charge him $75/month plus half of the vet, farrier, and grain. But like I said.. it will differ.
Usually a half lease simply means that you will pay x amount of dollars to ride someone else's horse. The owner usuallyy pays for the vet feed board and farrier although they may ask yu for help if the horse requires anything extra (such as special shoes supplements or medicine. With a half lease you will probably get to ride 3-4 days a week.
all of that should be in your contract. usually you can ride a leased horse all you want. You just can't ride one into the ground. I think you would be responsible for the vet, farrier and teeth floating. If the horse is remaining at the owner's stable the feeding, and stalls arrangements will be their responsibility. If there is a turn out you will probably be responsible for that. Whether or not lessons are included in the lease can be worked out in the contract.

Happy Trails
