I want you to let me know what you think about this sport. The parts where it shows cross-country/steeplechasing, whatever sport it is. And keep an eye out for 3:09-3:14. I just want to know what y'all think =D
The cross country phase of Eventing. The three phases are an Olympic sport. Whenever they show these "thrills and spills" everybody has a bit about safety.
It's dangerous. To both horses and riders. Every year, people and horses die or are seriously injured. Same with rodeo, same with polo, same with dressage, same with rodeo, same with even trail riding and backyard fun. Horses are inherently dangerous.
You have to live somehow.
about the moment at 309; yes, he stung himself a bit getting into the water, but he came out of it OK. Just got off stride a bit in the water. It happens a lot in the water, the mud will change the footing, but the officials make very sure that the footing is the best it can be.

Used to event and help put on events. There is such a high and wonderful feeling when you have a good cross country run. The horses that love to run and jump are so wonderful! I do dressage now, and doing sequential changes is my new 'high' Both are great!
I think that the rider was not prepared for that fence, got left behind, and fell because of it.
Its certainly not something I ENJOY watching..... seeing things like this make me question whether I want to keep riding XC or not, it looks quite terrifying to fall like that, but I guess it happens to the best of us. Im just glad he wasn't hurt.
Its scary but I don't think it will stop me, I will just do my best to be as prepared as possible for the jump. And if I fall, then I guess I will just have to get back up.

Thanks for sharing that vid :) In my opinion, cross-country/steeplechase can be little better than cruelty in the hands of idiotic riders. But beautiful and exciting in the hands of truly gifted riders.

years of riding (and falling)
Its cool but its long. That part at 3 09 was weird. I think he just kinda lost his balance and got off stride. And that kinda messed up the rest of the run. And right after 3 14. Good lord! That was a bad fall! I think the horse was ok but its safe to say that horse had to call it a day. Thats cross country. When they do it on their on, its cross country. A steeplechase is similar but it is a race between riders, and is run on a track. typicically circular. Hope I helped! Best of luck!

3:09, he was not ready, got left behind and jabbed the horse's mouth. The fall was a result of it.
The last activity was awesome!!!
What is that called?
Overall great video!

4:20 to 4:25.....interesting. : )
6:13 beautiful palimino
A lot of these are just awful from before the take off......you had to know something bad was going to happen. These are some of the worst falls I've seen.
And synched to Cobra? Awesome
