Joint Supplement [horses]?
I wrote down a name of an arthritis supplement for my mom to buy my horse but she saw a cheaper one and bought that instead called the supplement that she bought is called "Renewal Equine Nutritional Support", has anyone heard of it? I want to make sure its safe before I feed it to my horse...not that I don't trust my mom or anything but she's doesn't kno really anything about horses so...I jsut wanna be on the safe side. Here are the ingredients [if that helps]:
Glucosamine hydrochloride, 10 000 mg
Methyl Sulfony Methane [MSM] 11 000 mg
Vitamin C [Magnesium ascorbate] 2 150 mg
[then the rest of the two ingriedients are french o.O and this isnt the french side of the bottle...]
l'hydrochloride de la trimethylglycine 1000mg
magnesium 750mg
All the ingredients listed are commonly used to treat arthritis, although they usually are used seperately. For instance Glucosamine is usually by itself or in conjuncture with condroitan, but I've not seen it with MSM. Vitamin C is often used. I'm not familiar with trimethylglycine so I looked it up (trimethylglycine hydrochloride) and found it's used for a lot of things. One is for rhumatiod arthritis although there is little clinical data supporting it's effectiveness. I doubt the product will hurt your horse and perhaps it will help. Both glucosamine and MSM are proven to help aid in joint mobility.

that supplement sounds good. it has very good ingredients that are good for joints..i'm jsut gonna add that i totally and completely recommend Nimble. its a bit pricey, but that stuff freakin works!! its great for an arthritic horse, but also amazing for performance horses too. if the stuff you have now doesnt seem to work, i'd recommend investing in Nimble. looks like this: http://www.valleyvet.com/swatches/34056_…

it has MSM and Glucosamine in it btw.. and more ingredients of course, but those are def pluses for a joint supplement.
