Once you're a member of the USPC (United States Pony Club) you can compete in rallies (shows) on either your own horse, a horse you lease, or a borrowed or lesson horse from your club. The USPC has dressage, show jumping, eventing, and gaming rallies.
You usually compete in a team (if your pony club has enough members you will be with them, or you can join another team if needed). USPC "D" rallies are usually very low key and are great fun. They do have some rules like no cell phones, you can't talk to your parents during the rally unless in a certain location, etc. though they are trying to change this.
