I wouldn't send in either of them, instead I would try to get one from the side so that both your position and the horses can be better critiqued. Neither picture really makes it easy to see.
Out of the 2 the first is the better from a timing stand point. The second is late and not showing the entire horse, standards or jump so you are not getting the best picture not to mention what you say you do not what a critique on. In the first there are several things that could be better. The picture itself is cropped oddly, you can not see his rear legs but over all not a big deal however you are sending the picture for a critique of your jumping. However out of the 2 the first is the better picture.
25 years as a pro photographer.
He's not going to critique either of them. He only takes ones where the picture is clear, taken from the side, and all of the horse/jump is showing.
The first picture is better.
((also, I know you don't want critique and I'm sorry to do this but you're causing your horse pain... GIVE HIM A RELEASE! You're yanking on his mouth over the jump and you can tell from his expression it's hurting him. Shorten your reins about six inches and move your hands about 8 inches up his neck. You will see a ton of improvement when it doesn't hurt his mouth to jump!))

well i would say you should get new pictures- neither of these are amazing enough for a magazine.
You should take either a side or a frontal picture. =]
and fix the things you said you will. you have a cute horse!

I'd go with the first one. They are both good but the first one is a bit better. (The second one has a person in the background which is distracting, lol.) Very beautiful horse, by the way.
Neither. You need a nicer side view which also shows the whole height of the jump (unlike your #2). Are you really sure you want to be critiqued by him? He can be pretty harsh sometimes.
I think you should submit the first one=)
I am not being rude but pics arent all that great..
first definetly!
You should get a more clear shot taken from the side. if I had to choose, the first one.
I know you didn't want any critique but you need to let your horse stretch over the jump. You are pulling on his mouth... easily fixable by just giving him some release over the jump.
edit: Well... you asked for what picture you should submit. I should say that you shouldn't submit any of them since your horse looks like he is in pain and your two point isn't great. So.... what do you want? An honest answer? Or the usual BS people want to hear?

I'd say the 2nd one. Better view of you and more to critique based on a few things that I can see and have seen in some of your pictures.
I hope you'll post an update as I am curious as to what his comments are!!

well now that the cat's out of the bag on your list, why would you be turning him in midsteream over the jump? The bit has gone halfway through his mouth. It was because of that for the most part that I chose that picture. I thought it needs to be seen to better critique you.
Also, I see your instructor there..does she not comment on your crest releases or your upper body and arm position? It's the same in every picture. Relax..you look like you're trying too hard. I see alot of questions about crest releases, even wanting to eliminate one and you don't even follow your own advice. You look like your doing an upper body push up with your arms so far away from your body and your hands resting on his withers or in the air. Do you feel comfortable jumping that height?
