Do all male guppies tails grow long?

Hi I have 8 male fancy guppies, & i can see that there tails are growing slowly, but i was just wondering weather only special sorts of guppies tails grow long?

any tips on making there tails longer are welcome...lol!!!

Nope, it all depends on the variety of guppy.

Fancy male guppies will usually have their tails grow pretty decently long.

However, if you really want some impressive tails, buy some fantail guppies.

The ones in the stores labeled as "fancy" guppies usually have their tails grow rounder but not as big.

Guppies, being live-bearing fish, are subject to wide variations in color, as well as tail size and shape. The most common are graded out at the fish farm, and often sold as food fish for oscars, as other carnivorous fish. It was about 40 years ago I worked on a couple of fish farms in Florida, so I don't remember all the details, but do remember sorting out the guppies, and other live-bearers. You can only make their tails longer by a careful selective breeding program. Then maybe you can sell your super-fancy variety.

All guppies grow long tails because i've been breeding Endler guppies for 3 years and all the males have long tails but the way i'm breeding them they end up with different rare tails.I believe i've made a new breed of guppy and all the guppies i've bred have long tails exept the females.
