I have 5 boy guppies and 6 zebras in my 20 gallon tank, earlier I asked if i could get 10 females and everyone said no dont do they'll have babies like crazy, I do kinda want this to happen because I am curious and I could sell the babies? so do you all think that 8 females wud be enough for 5 males even though ur suppose to have like 2 or 3 females per male?
Should be alright but if 1 were to die i'd definatle get more,
Have them
8 is enough, but I don't recommend it. It will not be easy for you to keep the babies alive either. I have only ever bought 3 guppies but now I have 100s. I have a 10 gallon tank set up that only houses red cherry shrimp right now. If I want to have more guppies I take a pregnant female out of the tank(but never when they are close to giving birth, that could cause her to have birth right away and they could be stillborn) and put her in the 10g. sometimes they don't eat any of the babies and sometime they eat a few, it just depends on the fish.
BUT DON"T DO IT, YOU DON"T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM.
