i have a beautiful bluetick coonhound.. im training.. and i need sum help we have racoon toy tied to a string to tie from a tree or run around with w/e but i need to know what would be the best brand of coon sent to use... people tell me to go find a road kill coon n cut the tail off and use it.. well thats just odd to me HELP PLZ!!!
Well, if you're training it you need fur from the real animal that's not been tanned for taxidermy, so the road kill idea is actually a good one. If you only needed the poop from a raccoon to train the dog, I'd say contact a wildlife rehabber, they'd have plenty of possum and raccoon poop from the animals they're helping. But for actual fur off the animal....your best bet is locating a trapper and buying an untanned skin from them, or keeping a knife in the car and paying attention to road kill lumps (watch out for fleas leaving the dead body for new territory -- you).
