Puppy won't stop chewing and biting?
My 10 week old blue heeler/pit bull mix puppy won't stop chewing everything and biting people. He has chew toys and rawhide strips, I've tried the spraybottle when he does it and I've tried everything else I can think of, but he still does it. Nothing seems to work! He chews our shoes, papers, clothes, my underwear (his favorite), my son's toys...you name it, he'll destroy it. He will snap at peoples' fingers, hands, arms and feet like they're chew toys and he'll actually pin your arm down so he can bite your hand. He doesn't seem to even be learning...it's like stopping him from destroying one thing just means he has to find something else. He's a sweet puppy and I don't want to get rid of him, but his destructive behavior is threatening my relationship with my fiance and I'm being pushed into giving the little guy up. I can't have him destroying everything in sight; he's damaging our home- tearing up the carpet, shredding pillows, etc.- and if I don't find a solution soon, I'm afraid I'm going to have to give him away.
try paying attention to him and exercising him more.
Yea, it's kinda hard because he is a puppy and that's what they do. We had to put allot of things up and out of sight and pay allot more attention to our dog. A couple of good long walks and always watching her. It's like having a baby, constant looking after. It's hard work and for a long time.
This is because you dot have enuf toy for him to play with he needs dog toy not kids toys or anything like that

PS:dont you think that a 10week old puppy is a little to young to be away from his mum

thankz
me
Dogs are orally stimulated. If you see him chewing or biting say a stern "NO!!" and give him one of the toys he's aloud to have. This will teach him what he can and can't chew. if that doesn't work watch him whenever you can and put him in a crate when you can't.
My puppy was the same way.
Put vinegar in your spray bottle. A mix of vinegar and water shot into his mouth should deter him.

I know it's a bit silly, but I watch a lot of It's Me or the Dog and Victoria Stilwell has a lot of great solutions. You can check her site or watch episodes on animalplanet.com

First of all, your puppy is still too young to be seperated from its mother, which can obviously cause behavior, health, and other types of problems. Second, you need to read some books on how to raise a puppy. What he's going through is the oral stage, and needs special attention.

You should be better prepared to own a dog.
He's only ten weeks old! All puppies chew like crazy. It's a phase. Crate train him and keep stuff out of his reach. I had friends who literally had to put chicken wire around everything in the house to keep their English Cocker from eating everything. It will pass. Make sure he has acceptable stuff to chew on in the meantime and wait it out. It's also not too early to begin obedience. This might help a bit, too.
