My son wants a puggle for his b-day. Are they good house dogs?
We have a back yard but we have another dog, and inside we have a cat. I think if we raise the dog with the cat he/she will not mind.
There's no such thing as a puggle!!!

Its just a mutt. Any dog could be a good house dog, it ALL depends on how responsible and how much time the owner dedicates.

So, you ALREADY have a dog and he lives outside??? Why?? Why can't your poor dog be inside the house with the cat??

Dogs are pack animals and I BELIEVE they should live inside with their pack (in this case you and your family)...

So if you couldn't train your outside dog to be inside why get another one?? To throw him outside too?
Puggles are mixed breeds and are at times, good house pets. Their temperament can't really be written down in paper and state that that is how all puggles will be, everyone is different.
For the most part, having a mixed breed is great. Getting him as a puppy and training him early to act exactly how you want him to will be the wisest thing to do. If you decide to get him accustomed to your cat, he will if you introduce them the right way. And since the puggle will more than likely be a puppy, your dog may not mind the new addition.

how old is ur cat? if ur cat is an adult he might not like the puggle. maybe after a while they will be ok with each other. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puggle puggles r good house dogs. just make sure ur dog and cat r ok with the new dog. make sure they will accept him. also talk to ur vet about feeding ur new puppy and other stuff.
Oh, no worries.

The fabulous "breeder" or pet store that will charge you an exorbitant amount of money for a mutt with a fancy name will be more than happy to answer all your questions ... be sure to get the return/refund policy in writing and notarized, though ... you might be needing it.
hi,

The Puggle is a mix between the Beagle and Pug. He's become fairly popular, thanks to his fun-loving personality and cute looks. He gets along with kids and other dogs, and can make a great family companion. Just be aware that the Puggle may enjoy barking, and although he's intelligent and loving, he's not always eager to please when it comes to training.

hope this helps.
First of all, be aware that Puggles are bred as a gimmick to make a lot of money in return for what is a poorly bred mutt. The people who make them do not have access to good breeding stock, as no self respecting Pug or Beagle breeder would ever do that.

You may find a "Pug Mix" or a "Beagle Mix" via Petfinder at a rescue, and it would be a wonderful thing for your son to be a hero for his birthday - but not to have someone be paid lots of money for not doing right by the dogs. Please don't give them a lot of money, which is what they will ask.

The success of this addition will depend upon your other dog - what is that, exactly? It could wokr with some things, but not others. Tough to tell, without knowing.

And lastly, dogs are not objects, nor should they be birthday gifts. Better to get your son a leash, and then work on finding a little odg for him after his birthday. when it can't start its new life by eating all the cake.
well my cousin has one.. Wall-E is a good dog.. if u dont mind the brawl it wont have a bark more liek a long howl... heck on youtube for the sound.. but other than that u can raise it from a pup to knwo that the kitty is not a toy, and the dog in the back yard well that depends what gender both dogs are and if any of them are fixed...
They're good pets for people who can handle their activity level. They tend to be on the hyper side.

They're also smart and stubborn. You'll need to take a firm hand, but it shouldn't be a problem.

They can be good with other animals. Just depending on their socialiazion.

So what if they're mutts?
They still need families!
Just as long as you don't let anyone scam you out of more than $100 for a pup, it's fine.
A "Puggle" is a pug and a begal mix.

What is your other dog that you have? Sometimes it is hard to bring another dog into the house especially if the dog you have now is used to being the only one.
You are right. Most of the time if you raise the dog and cat together they do fine.

Here are some links to puggle sites and information. My suggestion other than looking at these would be to read up on both breeds and make sure there is nothing about either breed that you can't live with. Not every dog is the same some might inherit traits that others wont.

If you do decide this is the dog for you enjoy your new friend!
