about a week ago a chihuahua showed up at my house. it was friendly and none of the neighbors knew him or where he came from so we just let it hang out, thinking it would leave and find its way home cause he was a little husky and obviously had been getting food.
then a few days ago our dog went after the food we put out for the chihuahua. they fought a little and the chihuahua was in a bad mood all day. later on i walked past him and i guess got a little too close to the food and he came after me. later on he was fine and acted all nice again. i know chihuahuas can be aggressive but a few days later the chihuahua left and we havent seen him since and i was wondering if he had rabies. that was the only incident. am i just being paranoid?

Sounds more like the chi had food aggression issues. I doubt very much it was rabid especially if it looks healthy.
The dog has aggressive food issues.....probably not rabies.
