my jack russell terrier duchess is 5 months old now , ive found her when she was 2 weeks old after her mother died ,so i took her in and bottle fed her so shes very attached to me and no one else . ive trained her to pee and poop on the puppy pads and she was doing that,until last month when suddenly she started fearing the pads ! i have no idea why ! ,she fears them to the limit that she would pass by them and not step on them even ,and now she pees and poops in the room on the carpet . i dunno where this fear came from . another thing is that i tried to train her to pee and poop outside ,but she fears to go out , and if she does she would hold herself until she gets back in the house ,she would never do her business outside , she just wanna stay in the room playing with her toys all day,and roaming the house every now and then . i think that this might be cuz she was raised in the room and she sees it as a place to guard as she barks at anyone who would just open the room door other than me . i either wanna break her fear from the pads or help her learn how to pee outside .she could hold herself for a complete 7 hours when i take her out to places with me and never accomplish anything,but as soon as we enter the room she relaxes and pees and poops on the carpet . how can i break her fear and lose her attachment to the room ?? thanks .
p.s the complete story of how i found her incase ur wondering is that she was in an alley in winter ,it was cold ,and i found the mother dead with 2 other pups dead as well,she was the only survivor between them , and now shes a healthy happy dog ...well not when it comes to peeing and pooping anyway lol
