She has been on Frusemide tablets for three days. Last night she was sick and this morning she won't eat her food. She always eats all her food straight away so this is very unusual. Also the last two nights she has urinated in the bedroom at night. Could all this be due to the tablets she is taking or could there be something else wrong with her? What do the Frusemide tablets do? I know they are water tablets for her heart (which is grade 5), but I don't know what they actually do. Could she have caught something from the vets? Could it be something more serious? The urinating and the loss of appetite just aren't like her. She is a 10 year old Cavalier. Thanks xx
I had a Cavalier with the same problem, they are prone to heart problems. The Tablets are to remove the water from her system as her heart is not working properly, and yes she will wee all the time, that's what they are for. I would give her a day or so and if she is still not eating take her back to the vets. She must drink plenty even though she is weeing a lot or her kidneys could fail.
