People who enjoy getting high will sometimes get their animal high and claim that the animal likes it. Personally I think thats ignorant but...do you think animals like getting high? Why would they enjoy it?

Marijuana is poisonous to dogs. No I don't think they like it.

It affects animals just the same way as people. It is irresponsible, and can have the same serious side effects as for humans, only tenfold because they are so much smaller. Yes, they get high, no they don't 'enjoy' it. Most animals get scared by things they don't understand.
No i dont think they do like it, its the stoned people that are giving the animals drugs that are enjoying it, not the animal.
the scientific reason that all of these plants (marijuana, mushrooms, etc.) is so that animals will not eat them. if you think about it, if an animal eats a plant and starts to feel funny, like forgetting what is going on, they probably won't eat that plant anymore. we know enough that it's gonna be ok afterward, so we do these drugs and love it.

My last dog, her 1st owner got her high sometimes, and it just makes me feel sick to think people do that... why would they enjoy stumbling around? I thankfully never saw it, or I would have just cried and thrown the biggest tantrum EVER!!! But luckily my mum took her away cause the @ss whole had to go to jail.
Also thankfully it didn't take it's toll on her and she lead a good healthy life... though I would hate to think it was the cause of her cancer :(

since homo sapiens(humans) evolved from dogs,(a long time ago, i think it went from dogs to chimps to us) we probrably have a similar reaction. If it makes us high, it would probably make them high
I think that is just plain stupid. I would consider that animal abuse, cruelty to animals, whatever other animal crime you could think of.
whether or not animals "like" getting high doesn't seem as important as the fact that animals "can" get high. ipso facto, why wouldn't they enjoy it? Lets face it, the life of a dog is boring; but with marijuana, things that are boring suddenly become fun (or at least tolerable).
Dogs like it, I know some pot head dogs (not mine, relatives) who will sniff the stuff out and eat an entire bag if allowed. I have no idea why the dogs would enjoy it but it must be for the same reasons as people, addiction and/or makes you feel good and relaxed. I wouldn't classify it as abuse as others suggest, but its not the greatest thing for the dog. Kind of like giving your dog a beer or lots of junk food. There are worse things you could do.

sorry but when I get high its just me and my human friends. i will never ever give my dogs marijuana. its abuse and not responsible

I doubt domesticated animals would enjoy it... though much like people, I would imagine it varies animal to animal, like person to person. I have heard of many people having dogs that continually steal their marijuana. However, I think it is a touch on the irresponsible side to smoke your dog up.
Wild animals, however, I think enjoy it. It's proven that deer will eat psylocybin (magic) mushrooms, and run and frolic in the fields. Because marijuana does grow naturally in many places across the world, it is the regular diet of some animals.

A friend of mine smokes weed and she has gotten my dog high. I didn't know about it, but she no longer looks after him. He started throwing up and didn't act himself the next day...
Oh my god, its bad enough when people do it, but when they do it there animals, hats even worse because they dont have a choice

i don't know about weed, but my dogs eat pickles,and love chocolate chip cookies, and twizzlers.
This is an interesting question. Weed had different affects on different people. Some like it, some don't. I imagine it's like that with animals as well. Then again, weed is poisonous to dogs, so maybe it wouldn't feel good to them either.
Either way, it's still stupid of them to do weed, and to even THINK of offering some to a dog who isn't smart enough to know it's harmful. I agree with you. They are probably just looking for a way to justify their bad habit.
