i say dogs are smarter than cats. cats do about one thing that is use the restroom in the litter box. big whoop they sell doggie litter now for dogs that are trained to use the litter box to. so that's out the window. Dogs can help save lives, take down a criminal and even been train to find deadly molds to weapons! i've never seen a cat walking around to smell out a deadly mold and or weapon. Dogs are train for therapy to they help sick ppl feel better and brighten their day i've never seen or even heard of a cat walking into a hospital and making sick ppl feel better. And for ppl in wheelchairs that need assistance has it ever been a cat? Nope. I Just think since dogs are way more trainable that they are smarter

They have different kinds of intelligence so it depends on how you define intelligence. Cats are independent solitary hunters and their intelligence is adapted to that type of survival. Dogs are social pack animals and their intelligence is based on getting along and working in a group environment. They really can't be compared.
