House temperature for dogs?
My dog ( Black Lab ) cannot tolerate the house if we turn the temperature up above 67 degrees. I'm sure Al Gore would love him but that's too cold for me during the day. We do turn the furnace down to 62 at night because the upper floor maintains a higher temperature.
What SHOULD be a comfortable temperature for a dog or is this pretty much normal?
Remember that a dog can't take it's jacket off when it comes inside. Larger dogs would love it if we kept our homes between 50-60 degrees.
Small dog seem to like a house to be to warm. (at least to warm for me)
I agree with what's been written. What's comfortable for you should be comfortable for your dog. Don't worry overmuch, and give him a chance to adjust. If not, as previously suggested, perhaps he should be an outdoor dog.
A comfortable temperature for your dog should be whatever temperature you are comfortable at. Remember that these animals can survive outside through hot and cold temperatures. If he thinks it's too hot in the house, then put him outside.
If you're comfortable your dog should be fine.
