What are good ways to calm a super hyper pit-bull?
Hey. how what are some good ways to calm down my pit-bull someone in my home got him surrendered and now i want him back.. i called the shelter and they were going to neuter him and asked if i want him back, i do badly because its only been like 3days and i cry everyday but he was soo jumpy and rough everytime people came over he would jump so high n everytime i tired walking him he was always pulling me all over the place.. is there like anything i can do?

should i get him back i miss him and dont want him being put down.
Take him back and do something different for exercise. Walking doesn't seem to be enough. One sport pit bulls excel in is weight pulling. Learn more at the IWPA web site. Spring poles are another way to exercise a dog. Obedience training is essential. Challenging his brain will tire him almost as much as physical exercise. Then find out who surrendered him to the shelter and throw that person out of the house. Let him live in a shelter.

He's not "super hyper", he's a Pit Bull.

ALL of them are like this. He needs exercise and formal obedience training.

This breed requires an hour of hard running every day to be considered "normal". If you can't do it, don't take him back. This breed requires obedience training from day one to prevent insane things like pulling, jumping, and destructive behaviors. If you can't afford training or don't have the drive to train him, don't take him back.

You really do need to pick something. You either miss him and want him back, or you want to go out and buy another dog (Pug or Boston, or God forbid a "Puggle"). It sounds like you just want to HAVE a dog and not do the training and work it takes to OWN one.
I have a pit as well and he was/is hyper all the time. He needs another dog to occupy him or lots of attention and coaching. The nuetering will help a little but not a whole lot. If you don't have the time to do this, you should find a home for him. Shelters have a hard time finding homes for pits because how "dangerous" people believe they are, even though thats a complete misconception. They often get put down rather then are found a home. You should either put in the time or find a home, you owe him that much.
Honestly, it sounds like you can't handle him. He is hyper and rough because he needs to be exercised. He is a terrier!!! He needs a minimum of 2 45 minute to 1 hour walks per day. Try buying him a doggy backpack and weighing it down to add extra weight while he walks. We use either water bottles or rolls of pennies in our dog's backpack.

If you can't walk him, allow him to be re-homed. With the minimum amount of exercise that I mentioned above, he will be a totally different dog. Try not to let your emotions make this decision, do what is best for the dog.
Hi! Pit Bull's are very strong willed and need TONS of exercise to remain calm and to behave. You have to assert yourself as the boss and walk him at least an hour a day. He thinks he is your boss, which is why he pulls you all over the place. A hyper, undisciplined pit is not only a pain, but can be dangerous.
go to obedience, talk to a trainer

and no I don't think you should get him back
I think you should find him a better home
or find a good bully-breed rescue

was it you that asked the question about getting his teeth removed?
that's idiotic.
Start with a professional dog trainer or obedience classes. They could help you out far more than any of us could via internet.
Pitt bulls or any dog for that matter need/want a dominant owner-they look to us for guidance and leadership.
Work in a vet clinic
I honestly think you shouldn′t have a dog at all!!!!!!! Read the other questions you had within the last 2 (!!!!!!) days and can′t believe it.
First you give your dog away. Because it′s "super hyper" and you apartment to small. Well, maybe you should have given your dog the exercise it needed and trained him to behave!?!?!?!?!?! Plus you know before you′ve got him how big you place is!!!!
Then you ask people what dog you should get next? A pug or a boston terrier!?!?!?
And now you want to get the pit back? (Did your apartment grow in the last 3 days?) What do you expect? That the poor dog behaves better - because he has to be thankful that you got him back?
Owning a dog is lot of work and needs time. You are not willing to put time and work into you dog. You didn′t even find him a good home. But hey I know the perfect dog for you. It doesn′t need exercise, no training and no time. Get a stuffed dog. That will not have to suffer...
