Is it wrong to put clothing on dogs?

Is it wrong to put clothing on dogs?
Not for fashion only but to keep them warm??
Fashion is just a bonus.

As long as the dog doesn't mind, I'm fine with it.

My basset & pom LOVE to be dressed up. My beagle can do without it.
There is nothing wrong with doing it to keep them warm. I do it for my chihuahua when hes outside and its cold, i dont put anything fancy on him, only something for the purpose to keep him warm. Anytime i see someone with there dog in an outfit, for dog fashion, i want to vomit. I feel so bad for those dogs, that they have owners that put such crap on them
I think it is absolutely ok, whether it be for fashion or practical purposes. Your dog may take a while to get used to wearing "clothing", so expect a few attempts to remove it, but some dogs really appreciate a jacket in winter! I use dog sneakers on my boys to prevent foot problems throughout the year (stepping on bindies or glass) and it took very little time to train them that the shoes were ok!

In some places like where I live the small dogs especially need it for warmth.
As for fashion, some people don't think its good but I don't see any problem with it. As long as it is not making the dog uncomfortable. At least when you are trying different things on your dog you and your dog are doing things together. That's a lot better than all the people who ignore their pets.
I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the dog isn't hurting or uncomfortable. I would put a sweater on my dog to keep him warm in the winter, he didn't really like it at first but now he can't wait to get his sweater on for his cold walks =).
No i wouldnt dress up my dog... maybe if it were a small dog that feels the cold a bit more, i'd get it it a vest for walks, but that is about it!!!
I dont like the idea of dressing a dog up, they're not dolls!!!!!!!

Plus my rotti x staffy would look stupid in a tutu :D
I think it definitely depends on the dog. If the dog needs the warmth, then no, it's not wrong. But if the dog gets irritated by the clothing, then yes, it is wrong. That's just my opinion though.
I have a chihuahua that I have to give a sweater to in the winter because he gets cold..That's not wrong at all because it is in the best interest for the dog.
I put a jacket on my dog (hes a Staffordshire Bull Terrier) during the winter :) it doesnt look fashionable at all though lol

I dont agree with people dressing their dogs up on a daily basis though
A sweater to keep a dog warm IF it is needed is ok. They other stuff is just plan out wrong. These are dogs, not kids.
