I am against all intentional breeding of mutts, 1000%. (Though I love the unique little Heinz 57's that I've rescued and adopted out.) But what really gets me these days? Are people looking for crosses of two breeds so similar in look and temperament that they are nigh-identical, e.g.:
Golden/Labrador mix! (OMG, a breed that loves fetching and water crossed with... a breed that loves fetching in the water!)
Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix (One hard-to-groom long-haired low-energy breed with another! Oh my!)
Husky/Malamute mix (two working breeds that look like wolves and have to be exercised constantly, JOY)
Are we going to see people next looking for Welsh Springer and English Springer Spaniel mixes, Greyhound/Whippet crosses, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever crosses?
Does anyone understand this AT ALL?! If you want a retriever, just get a retriever! Why do you need some absurd "special combo"?

Humans are strange, what can i say?
What's even crazier is when they do a 3 way cross. . . I passed a pet store a woman had just spent 900 on a what she said was a puggle shih tzu cross. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? People need to contact local shelters if they don't care whether they are looking for a specific breed or not because buying mutts is making shelter mutts die at faster rates.
First I'd like to say I'm nuts for mutts but only shelter mutts.(or the occasional one you may help on the street.

who cares. people cross all diferent dogs to make the best hunting dogs for there needs etc. personally i like purebreed dogs as i have a pitbull but who cares really if all dogs are going to good homes. so be it

Fox Terrier/Rat Terrier
Chihuahua/MinPin
These are all pretty similar breeds,too,so I don't know why anyone would purposely breed them unless the dogs were superb working/hunting/therapy dogs with exceptional temperaments and there were already homes for the puppies.But otherwise,just stupid people looking to make a fast buck with no thought of what will happen to the dogs.
