What are some tricks you can teach a cat to do?

Sitting. My sister taught her cat to sit by holding up a treat over her head and saying sit.... Haha. I don't know how she did it though because her cat is really smart.

my friends cats use the toilet instead of a litter box. she started by putting a litter box on top of the toilet and let them get used to being up there. then she took the box away and they were just used to pooping on the toilet that they kept doing it.

repeat the action by telling the word for action... for 5 days continuously ... it will definitely work

shyt, pee, and sleep

You can teach a cat a lot but you have to start young. Some people are able to teach them how to use the toilet and flush. Some can teach them how to climb up them a certain way. Pose, speak, fetch, etc. They can do a lot but like I said, got to start young.

Rewards is a good way to teach them. Show them how to do things and give them treats. Or you can put the litterbox in the toillet area and have them start using that. Not really sure on the rest but I have seen people do it before.

i taught my two to ignore me, sleep a lot, hide in boxes,hunt for mice,howl for no reason in the middle of night , come running in from outside when it is raining and jump on me while i am sleeping, stare at me, purr.
one smacks me really hard if i reach to pet her. petting is only allowed when she approaches me.

when i put my hand over my cats head it jumps so it can get touched by my hand and when you call cats like you make signs in your hand they will come and when you tell them stay they stay and when you tell them sleep they sleep in the ground :D

Actually, cats can fetch. I had a Siamese that did it, and I've read that Ragdolls often do it. You can use clicker training with cats. The author below has written about cat training.

i taught my cat to kiss me.lol well kinda..
i would say kissy kiss and kiss him on his head between his ears.. after a while he started putting his head up when id say it,
now i just say kissy kiss & he kisses my face with his nose..

I have 2 cats that play fetch. They both sit when told (well, most of the time at least. They are cats after all.) And one of them also sits up, and plays dead when you "shoot" her.

It took time, and repetition, and some of their favorite treats. The fetching was achieved once I discovered what their favorite kind of balls were. One cat likes the little foam ones, while the other likes the jingly plastic cage-types ones.

Treats, repetition, lots of patience, and more treats are a big part of it. Get the cat to do the behavior, then give them the command, then the treat. Don't give the command before the behavior or else they won't connect the two.

Cats are very smart, they're just very independent too. Get some boiled chicken breast or something else delicious and see what you can do.
