How do I get my cat to stop bringing me dead moths?

How do I get my cat to stop bringing me dead moths?
My mom leaves her window open and moths fly in the house.
My cat hunts them, picks them up with her mouth, and drops them on my hand or leg. Sometimes they're still alive and unable to fly because she messed up their wings, so they just flutter. It's gross. She's done it at least five times by now.

And nope, I can't ask my mom to shut the windows.
You cat is actually honoring you by bringing you her prey. It's a sign she really likes you.
well. either get rid of the cat. or don't feed the cat so they eat the moths instead of dropping them. or shut your door. that's really the only way you can do it. you can't train a cat.
Get a huntsman spider. It will grow fat and juicy eating all the moths.
Happened at my house, the moths dissapeared.
Yeah and as the 1st nswer said, she honouring u by bringing u her prey as a sign of shes earning her keep.
My cat used to lill mice and drop them at the front door to say thankyou for feeding me.
ahhh, how cute!
She's actually giving you guys gifts. Seriously! Like, crap in your bed!
She is simply bringing them to you because she is proud of the fact that she caught an "intruder". There is nothing you can do to keep her from catching flying bugs and bringing them to you. Simply say good girl, pet her, and flush the bug.
put a screen in because thinks she is doing something good for you and it is easier to just deal than to break her of it
ahhaah
yeah same with my cat
well my mums cat
she brings in dead **** all the time...
shes just trying to be nice lol

u can liek hit it or something, thatl do it
but liek tis just trying to be nice, i couldnt do that

i think u need to call dr. harry
It's a natural thing your cat is doing and you won't easily counter her nature.

All I can suggest is you catch the moths first; get a net from your local hardware / hobby store and keep an eye out. Think of it as indoors exercise.

Yes, I'm being serious. Your cat, remember, is offering you thanks for looking after it: paying you rent with the only thing it can 'earn'- moths.
haha, your cats giving you the moths as presents :P seriously my cat on christmas saw all these presents under the tree so she brought a dead bird under it :P
just whenever she gives you one, punish her, like shout at her or spray water etc. she'll get that you dont like dead moths :P
hope this helps :)
She is trying to contribute to the family, I know it sounds weird but its true. My cat brought us dead chipmunks and a rabbit once, we would always say bad cat and stuff like that. Then I seen this show that said say good cat and pet them like they did a good job and he stopped and did it once in a great while compared to everyday. I hope that helped. Good luck. :)
Just thank the cat for doing his instinctual natural job of hunting. Be glad you have a normal cat.
my cat has fallen down from my department (on 4F), because he like hunting the moth! and he was hurt hard!
you know what you need to do, shut the windows!
My blue russian cant loves moths! lol
My mother is a veterinarian, so I can tell you firsthand. You cat loves you. He really does. He can't show his love any other way, besides rubbing on your leg. So, he finds the alternative. He believes that he is making you happy by depositing moths at your feet. He considers it a gift. A token of his love. My cat left a dead rat on my porch one summer day, and a half-killed lizard another day. But I won't disgust you with te details. The point is, unless there is a way to keep your cat outside, he might continue to bring in half-dead things.

Ok, you can't get your mother to close her window. Ask if she might consider closing just the drapes, or, install a screen. Then, moths cannot enter, and air is circulating through the house still.

Here's an idea that might prevent your cat from walking too far into your bedroom: spread large sheets of tin foil in the areas you don't want him crossing. The tin foil gets caught in his claws when he steps. He won't like it, and therefore, I doubt he will cross if the sheet is wide enough. There is something in tin foil that irritates cats, though the tin foil trick doesn't work for all cats. But give it a try. It might work, and good luck. I know how gross it can be!
