I'm trying to figure out what I can do to take my cat with me to college.
Unless your parents put you into a rental apartment or house that allows cats - you'll have to leave her behind. Lots of cats end up dumped at shelters because parents never wanted them in the first place and the teenager can't take it with them to school. Hopefully your parents love this cat as well and will let it stay in their home and care for it. Penny, my Exotic Shorthair, was dumped at a shelter within days of the days of the daughter heading off to college. Their loss, my gain, she's a wonderful cat!
I think you should take it to college with you. It would be nice to have a furry friend to live with and relieve stress of school. Unless your roomate does not aprove or has allergy's i think it would be best to keep the cat with you. unless you do not have the time. =|
Well my decision came sooner than collage... happened when my parents got divorced. My mom kept the cats.
I got cats again just as soon as I got married.

breeding/showing purebred cats since 1972
At least 90-95% of dorms do not allow pets, so unless you are planning on starting out in off-campus housing (not really advisable, if you ask me) then your cat is going to need to stay behind. If your parents aren't thrilled with the idea, perhaps you can come up with an agreement to contribute financially toward her care until next year when you move into your own apartment and can bring her with you.
It's a tough situation but people make it work all the time!

If your parents refuse to keep and care for the cat, then you could check with a friend who lives off campas and see if they would mind caring for your cat for a while.
