Sick cockatiel, what can i do?

I can't afford to take my cockatiel to the vets for maybe 2 or 3 days.
he's been spending time and sleeping on the floor.
what's wrong with him?? what's the chances of him dying? how can i help other than keep him warm?
i havn't stopped crying for an hour, i don't want to loose my baby. this is killing me he hasn't even lived a year yet

can you write your vet checks?? i know i have had a similar situation happen with one of my cats and my vet let me write a postdated check. i know it is not huge vet-like help, but hopefully it will work for you.
