ive had a cockatiel since last sunday and im letting it out to fly in my living room on friday, is it scary, will he bang into a wall and hurt himself, help please...
It is kind of scary, and sometimes birds can fly into walls and such and hurt themselves badly. I would suggest taking your bird to the vet and getting its wings clipped. If you insist on letting it out without clipped wings, put it in a room with very little sharp objects, a clean, spacey room. Don't pull the bird out, let it come out on its own, and be very calm. There should be no other animals in the room and you need to have patience to do this. Good luck :)
It's a little scary, when i let my bird out for the first time he hurt him self bad he almost died but hes fine now yo just need to be careful close the curtains so he doesn't bang into any windows and see if you can clip his wings if you are really scared also make sure there are no sharp objects around and make sure all windows and doors are closed.
