i got a peached face love bird six days ago and the people who worked at the petstore were i got him said that i should take him into the bathroom with gloves and hold him and whisper, so i waited about 3 days and i did just that but now im thinking it was to soon and i grabed him , did i mess up our relationship , what should i do to fix it , he seeems to be fine and eats still a little scared.... please help... thank you .
I have a peach ed face love bird, I took her into the bathroom to train her to step up and yes they will be scared. Only do this for 10 to 15 minutes a day or every other day, try not to grab the bird by chasing the bird around the cage, this will get their little heart working to hard, and birds can have heart attacks as well as strokes. Try to get your love bird out of the cage by taking the perch it is on out. If after a few attempts the bird keeps jumping off after 15 min of trying, then stop and try again later. If you are training the bird using gloves, try training without gloves. If you have a low tolerance of pain use the gloves, but you will need to train the lovebird again with out the gloves so it will get used to the feel of your skin and know your skin is okay to stand on.
